Pat Heavren and Associates

Patricia (Pat) Heavren established Energy Medicine Wellness Center in August, 2005 for individuals, couples and groups seeking transformation.  She combines her experience as an energy medicine practitioner and student of spiritual wisdom traditions with her professional background as a mediator, teacher, and organizational consultant, leading others on a journey of discovery and forward moving change.

Pat has trained extensively in the techniques of Light Body Healing and Soul Retrieval, adapted from the healing practices of the indigenous peoples of the Andes and Amazon regions of Peru.  She facilitates transformational workshops and is senior teaching faculty with the Four Winds Society and its founder, Dr. Alberto Villoldo, internationally known shaman, author, and medical anthropologist.  Pat facilitates programs across the US, Canada, Central and South America.  Pat is also a yoga and meditation instructor trained in the Kripalu yoga tradition.

Pat combines her personal spiritual exploration with over twenty years professional experience as an executive director and consultant to not for profit organizations, providing organizational development, management training, facilitation, and employee coaching and mediation services.  She holds a master's degree in human services administration from Antioch New England Graduate School, and an undergraduate degree in psychology and studio art from Fairfield University.  Pat has trained in mediation with the Quinnipiac University/University of Connecticut Labor Relations Board and the Boston Law Collaborative.

Pat endeavors to change the world by changing herself.  She believes the essential work in the personal/professional world of today is to call to the present the expanded possibilities of the future. It is her life's passion to bridge the perceived differences between the mystical and the practical, to dig deep within, and to support individuals, partners, and groups into weaving their everyday stories into the greatest stories ever told.

David Mensah has spent his career translating a dedicated concern for the positive transformation of individuals, families and communities into practical, group level trainings.  All of his trainings are specifically targeted to foster and encourage both individual and organizational change.

During twelve years as an Executive Director, nine years as a youth and family counselor and almost seven years as an adjunct faculty member at the university level David has used the last 20 years of personal and professional experience to hone his skills as a teacher, trainer, and transformational speaker.  David received his Masters in Divinity from Yale University and has a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Particularly interested in trauma and its effects on individuals and communities, David is creative in the provision of group-level trainings aimed at topics designed to meet the challenges of organizations operating in a dynamic work environment.

Skilled in leadership consulting, David is deeply interested in the overlap of personal and professional success.  His belief that changes in the workplace are reflective of change in both the personal and spiritual spheres has become an organizing principal that links many of the seminars and trainings he designs and facilitates.  David also believes that the challenges he frequently is asked to explore are almost always important opportunities.  His trainings are characterized by the fun, creative environment that he shapes for leaders and front-line staff alike.

Ed Phillips is a shaman, a seer, and a lawyer. His current path teaches the wisdom of an end to the hero’s journey -- when the hero has won the prize but lost himself, he must rebuild himself to return home. Ed helps people see beyond the end of the hero’s journey: the journey of the wisdom-keeper, the sage, and the innovator.

Before becoming a shaman, Ed spent his life first in service to his country in the Navy and then in service to the law.  He is a decorated combat veteran, a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, and the President of the Board of Directors of Flock Theatre.  Ed holds a J.D. from Quinnipiac University  School of Law, a B.S. in Psychology from Old Dominion University, and a B.A. in Theatre from Southeast Missouri State University. His spiritual path led him to train with John Daido Loori Roshi, Thich Nhat Hahn, Alberto Villoldo and the Dalai Lama. A graduate of the Four Winds School, Ed is now a Zen Buddhist and practicing shaman in the Incan tradition. Ed is also Cherokee and a member of the Wolf Clan, a clan of trackers and protectors.

Ed Philips and Pat Heavren lead personal/professional transformational workshops created specifically for attorneys and mediators.
